I use both hands and birchbark. start with the hands and if no answer go to my horn.I do not call all that much I am usally in the tall timber roaming lookin for them tho but on occasian I do call.

you stated new cuts can be good the only reason these are good is cuz the moose can be caught in the open and they are wondering what has happened to there trees. Now you take a 2or 3 year old cut and hunt that then you are starting to see some feed for them come up if you hunt the fringe in these cuts you will see moose..

Yes I agree. I should have said a cut that has a bit of new growth. I tend to think of a new cut being only a couple years old.

That is another good point also Giver, that it is common to see a moose cutting across or walking down a cut.
