I will be shooting a Semi 30-06. What ammo should I use?

Nothing less than 180 grain. I use failsafes myself and I love em. THey mushroom real well and hit real hard. I shot a doe 3 years ago while moose hunting. Went through a 2 inch sapling, through the deers neck and blew apart a 3 inch sapling.

I have mostly always used a Remington 308 semi and used 180 grain blunt nose (not sure what they are really called) bullets. I find they won't deflect as easily as the pointed shells.
Corman, what the heck were you using as a rifle and how close were you to the deer?

for sure on the 180 thing, failsafes are great I find that the CXP#'s by winchester are a great bullet

I was using a 270 at about 50 yds....lol
But I swear by theses things. I shot my bear with them last year, and it went down within 50 yds. My moose last year droped on the spot. Complete pass through with a real nice hole out the other side.

Thank you all for your input. I decided to go with the Winchester 180 gr. supreme accubond. I heard many good things about this ammo so I thought I'd try it out. Has anyone else used this ammo? I will let you know how it works.
