Well today was the first Saturday off in a long time and my plans was to go on a Jackrabbit Hunt with a long time friend of mine. Unfortunatley he had to bail and the next thing was to ask my Old Man to go, but he refused because of the amount of snow we got dumped with. So the next set of plans was to go to a nearby small lake for trout and pike. We get to the place and Orangeville parks mangament had closed it down for the rest of the season. Plan B was to race across Caledon and Peel region, pick up minnows at Hwy 400 and wipe up to Lake Simcoe. We got there late in the morning and set ourselves between a point and an island that I use to fish years ago. Within the first hour we hit a couple of small perch and kept them for the Wife. It was pretty slow but the ice had a lot of traffic which I never seemed to remember years ago. Finally we got a "beep" on the finder and within 5 mins dad nail's a nice Whitefish. It was like a Log and I had to stick my arm down the hole to grab it because it was one fat fish. Later a bunch of fish show up on the finder and within 5 min's to that I smashed something heavy. I was using a lite rod and line so I had to take it easy. Finally when it got to the hole I had to grab this one too. It had tangled itself with another one of our rig's. After that we call it a day. Not much, but I had to say that my Old man and I had fun. My dad's is the fat one. If you're wondering what that fur on the left is, it's from sabby's jacket. I hope to get out again soon and this time with the kids. Best Regards, DB
