here's a question for you hunters,, what would you do in a case like this: it's hunting season, big game is on, and you know an old logging road and know it doesn't go in that far, but there's miles and miles of area to stomp around in, and go in to spend the last few hours of daylight in that area.. and you drive in about a km and come to an abrupt end to 2 pick-ups completely blocking the road. -do you kindly turn around? and pay no attention to this attempt to hord the area to oneself? or-do you try to go around or through it. this is becoming more and more popular with hunters these days,, as the hunter numbers have gone WAYYYYY up I'm interested in your replies Sue

Another great question. We usually just leave where we are there is not an extreme amount of hunting pressure so there is lots of other places, in the more popular places I don't know how we would react, we had to deal with this very thing last year. 10

This is a good question we've even seen yellow caution tape across roads that the ministry had nothing to say about yet we part two trucks at an abandoned skidder trail leading to a 4-5 year old cut and asked not to do it again.

We've talked about going somewhere else just not sure we want to drive any farther than we already go. Plus this was a one year thing hopefully not again.

Well it would tick me off for sure. Thats real gready. However, if we go into an area where we see other huntes we usualy leave them alone and most do the same for us. Fortunatly we very seldomly run in to this as we go up for the third week and hardly run into another hunter.

This is nothing new. I've seen this all my life, sometimes its a good thing sometimes its not so good. When out there I usually let these things go because I'm there for a good time and not to stress myself out because of other peoples stupidity. One year we were going fishing and after more than a few hours 4x4 ing it to get close to the lake we found trucks blocking the road. We waited for about an hour then I decided to go and look for the hunters. After only a short walk I found them sitting around a fire having a few brews? WTF. Still being polite about it I told them it was not a good idea to block the road in case of an emergency and someone needed to get out fast. On our way out the trucks were parked on the sides. Missmod in this case you can decide to do whatever you desire. Its your land as much as theirs so go around if you so desire or park your truck and go hunting. If you downed a moose close to them that would be even sweeter. More guys to help drag it out.

whoops, I was going to post a followup post and forgot.. this happened to us once,, only once and there was 2 trucks parked side by each, and no other way around the trucks, there was a ditch on one side, and a camper on the other. who the heck are these guys, and who do they think they are to block off a road in crown land?? we left it alone, due to my persistance,, normally what we do when we see other hunters, is we leave them be, and turn around,, but when someone does this, it's making a statement,, and you know, if we hada seen the truck parked on the side of the road, we would have gladly turned around, but this is blatant and rude. some guys think they own the bush,, we spoke to many people later about this, and it was funny to hear many have either done it or said they would,, and that is to either a) pull the truck outa the way by means of chains b) let the air outa the tires c) slit tires d) leave a note e) alert the MNR I don't like anything to do with this kind of crap,, an angry man isn't a pretty site. but giverguns is meaner if provoked ;D
