this year I am hoping to get some neat pics of critters in the wild, I have my share of pics taken of animals in town,, but they aren't in their own habitat,, anybody can take a nice picture of a deer, but with houses and fences behind it? not what I had in mind,, so my goal for this year, is to practice patience and get out there in the field, and get some cool pics of birds and wildlife in their own environment. I'll post em as I get em anybody else into photography? ;D

Besides hunting and family or family and hunting, photography has to come a close second. I have many shots of wildlife from over the years just most are on 35mm. Have recently bought a new digital slr. Have not been able to go out as much as I'd like because of young family but the camera always goes with me. Probably take over a 100 shots a month sometimes thousands depending on mood. Have been known to take over 400 shots in a day.

missmod88. I too would have bought the Cannon but I have a lot of Minolta accesories and seeing as how Sony bought out Minolta I went with the Sony Alpha 100. 10.2 mega pixels, built in stabilizer system and hey Sony's reputation in digital equipment is pretty good. Nikon actually uses a Sony processor in their digital SLR's. I have been very happy with it. Went out yesterday in the cold and wind to see how it would perform at a local bird sanctuary. The camera worked great but the birds where a little flighty because of the wind. Heres a few more pictures taken with the Sony.

Have you ever tried Digiascoping? It's great for those far away animals. If you take a Digital camera one that has a built in zoom such as a Nikon Cool pix 4500 and hold it up against the scope eyepiece. I use a Leica Scope, which doesn't really matter what brand- it is just what you can afford. I can take photos 1000's of yard away. Some are good others just for document purposes.
try it out!
