oh what I would give to have an opportunity to even witness such a magnificent sight!! could you imagine?? what power!!!
amazing! I have heard them in the bush, but never seen them fight!! we walked in on a great big mother of a bull one year,, and a yearling bull, and a cow (with 2 calves) one fall, it was bird season,, so we weren't hunting them, (yet) that big ol bull stayed just in the bush where we couldn't see too much of him,, except for his HUGE paddles!!!
thanks for this it was great!!

I have heard 2 going at it. Man do they make a lot of racket. Dad and I walked down this rd. that was snow covered and found a spot that was just tore up with tracks, Went 50 yds fasrther and it was tore up again. Since the snow just fell during the night we knew it was fresh. Dad continued into the cut while I stayed there and did a couple soft cow calls. Well it wasn't 5 min. and I could hear a grunt. Then snap, crach and all hell broke loose. For a half hr they went at it. We didn't have a bull tag that year. My uncle came walking down the trail. And because the wind was blowing from the direction he ws comming from I radioed him and told him to hold tight. He could hear it from where he was aswell. Well stupid me. I knew they were not in there far. I should have tried to sneak in for a look cos I am told when they are preocupied by fighting often you can walk right up in them. I didn't and finaly they winded my uncle i guess cos they took off. I could see the trees moving where they where, just couldn't see them. I walked in after they were gone and they were only about 60 yds in the bush from me.
Another year we drove up on a cow and 2 bulls. The bulls were standing head to head when we drove by. When we went back the cow had just entered the bush and the BIG boy was on her heals. We got the smaller of the 2. Man was that other one big though.
Nothing beats 2 bulls fighting.

Yeah I know, and I have kicked myself in the but ever since then for not trying to sneak in for a closer look. Oh well, live and learn. Its funny, that year we never had tags. But i think its the year we learned the most aswell. We saw a total of 8 moose that year also. 1 bull had 3 cows with it.

yea I know that feeling,, me 'n giver had a cow tag one year, and we snooped in all sorts of places for a cow, no luck, but at first light, we were waiting for the sun to crest, and in the early morning light, in some dense fog, we saw the silouette of 3 bulls.. oh I wish I had my camera for that,, they were so gorgeous!! then later in the afternoon, we were in a total different area, and saw a big bull standing broadside at about 500 yards, and it walked over the ridge it was standing on, and in behind it, went 4 others!! there was 5 big bulls in that group!! I almost crapped my pants!!! Sue
