while I was typing my response to another post, I got a call on my phone,, it was the lady I have living in my 1 bedroom apartment that is attached to the house.. she asked me if I had loaned out my shovel. I thought it was odd, and maybe she was inquiring because she wanted to use it. I told her "no, it's here" she said "well, no I don't think it is.. a young fellow just come and took it from the front step!" I just got outa bed from my night shift snooze, still in my jammers, and looked out the back window, and sure nuff, there goes my shovel on the arm of a young person walking down the road!!! I says "thanks" and tore off my pants, and jumped into a pair of jeans, and a jacket, and a pair of boots with no socks, and follows this kid!!!
I live close to a lake that has an old ice rink that is covered in blowing packed snow from our winds, and he's trying to clean it off... I barks at him from the roadway,, "HEY!!! COME HERE!!!! WITH THAT SHOVEL!!!!!" he looks at me and complies.. I asked him "where did you get that shovel" he says "um,, at some house" I replied by saying,, "yea, MY house!" and started telling him that it was stealing to just TAKE an item that wasn't theirs to do whatever with!! I just couldn't believe the nerve of this kid!! so then the "mother" side of me, asked him 'why' and he said "I just wanted to go skating, I have my skates in my bag" then I felt terrible,, poor kid just wanted to go skating
I told him to go get some friends, and come by the house, and I would gladly loan him my shovels and even come to help, but just the two of us it would have taken hours to clean off.
why do people today think that they can just take stuff that isn't theirs?? right off of someones' step and think it's ok??
I don't understand society today
