Just wondering where everyone is going. We are off to 21A for the first time, have tentatively picked a location within the zone, trying to organize a trip up before the season to see the area.
10 Pointer I see that you are heading to the same area, where abouts do you within the area and is it a very populated WMU?

It is not that bad, however I expect more hunters there this year, last year there was surplus tags and this year they handed out more tags and no surplus.

Going up to 15b ,graham area, both bow hunting and gun hunting. Area 13 for deer, sunshine area.

we got a bull tag for WMU 6, but seriously think we're gonna do something different,, we may not even go for moose this year,, although I suspect we'll give it a poke on days,, just not gonna set up a camp like we have in the past , there are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too many hunters and not enough moose, there's arguments over areas to hunt between hunters, and it's getting too confrontational for me. I think we're gonna goof off with the deer mainly this year ;D although I talked to my brother today, and we're gonna go scouting in the plane this month, and see what there is for the big brutes!  |

Missmod,
With having the plane to your advantage, and a brand new truck is there not somewhere within area 6 that you could hunt for moose without as many hunters?

Area 4 in the 3rd week we see very few hunters. Plus there is lots of moose. However first week there is a pile of hunters that drive the moose farther in the bush. It seems like the moose come back out once thing calm down and then pow we are there. Dead moose everywhere.

Your going the 3rd week this year Dover? Is that new for you? I thought you guys always went the first week. We go the third week also. Leave on the Thursday for 9a. Maybe we'll see ya somewhere. Last year we ran in to the Clow;s from around here, they were heading up near us also. Ran in to them in North Bay gassing up then we ended up staying in the same motel in Hearst, Was the funniest thing.

Donnie hi Donnie! sorry I haven't been very active on here as of late  and missed your post yea, I got a trip planned with my brother flying the area over the next few weeks, and will be doing some scouting,, hubby wants to head out someplace for a week, but we want to choose a spot where the hunters are fewer... that might be a trick,, I'll take pics and let hubby choose the spot! ;D we are just reallly really looking forward to some time away,, it's always been a honeymoon thing for us I got 23 days off this fall!! |
