Keep up with it Sue, I am sure that one of these days you are going to be telling us how you bagged the big one. In the interim keep us informed on your regular hunts. I managed to get out for a few days of deer hunting and bagged a decent doe. I am currently waiting till December 3, when muzzeloader season starts and hopefully have some snow.
Also pouring over maps in the evenings trying to figure out where we are going for moose next year as it is only 320 days until we leave!!!!

Thanks Sue, it was a small deer as well. I wish I was hunting today, as I woke to about 5-6"'s of snow and it is supposed to snow the rest of the week, darn my luck. I used google earth this year to try and pic a spot that eventually proved unprofitable. I think that really had alot to do with the number of hunters and the 9 straight days of rain. I find it useful but I probably don't know enough of the features as I find it hard to determine what things are sometimes and yet I can see the pool of my Mom and Dad's next door neighbour!!!! Every now and then I will think of something click the button. I have found that topo maps help alot before going to google earth that way you have an idea what you are looking for (a bit of starting point).
Anyway, good luck with the bucks!

we use google earth alot,, or giverguns does,, most years (I didn't this year) my brother takes me flying, and I take arial shots of our chosen area, and then we compare to topo maps and google earth to make a plan.. when I go flying it's really got to do with that, not spotting animals. it's not as easy as it sounds to spot moose from the air. although I have on one occassion. a great big bull in the middle of nowhere lol it's -15 here this morning, brrrrrr that otta get the deer moving huh? we're heading out Saturday!! woot! ;D

I was only ever up in a small bush plane once. My mother got my dad a 1 hour plane ride and there was three of us that could go. We only ever spotted on deer (not really too many moose in this area) and I was ready to kiss the ground once we landed, the constant circiling made me a little quizzee. It is snowing here again today, d**n stuff I am not ready, still have to flip the boat, finish the deck, and the 4 wheeler won't start to plow the drive way grrrrrrr. Well they said it is supposed to be 7 on Monday so maybe I won't have too worry.. Good luck on the weekend....

yea, them small planes will do that to ya,, I told ya we hit a bald eagle huh? in fact that was the last time I flew with him,, it scared the crap outa me! we could have crashed and burned that day! that day I kissed the ground,, lol wow you sound like us,, we got tons of work to do before the snow is here to stay,, but our boat does have a tarp on it now, the yard is cleaned up (thanks to my son for both) and our quads work fine,, we do however, got some insulating to do,, lol (nothing like leaving it to winter time to do eh?) and I got to call the gas guy to come and hook up my fireplace,, it's the only source of heat in our addition (living room) and it's nippy in there this morning

Insulating I hate I mean hate insulating. I have been since last winter trying to finish insulating our basement and putting the vapour barrier on. Well insulating isn't that bad it's the vapour barrier in between the floor joists. I am almost there and then have to start studding the walls and insulating them, along with several other projects. If I was out ice fishing somewhere it would be a very nice day as the snow continues to fall pretty heavy at times, but alas I am at work and thinking of work at home so it is just ticking me off...
