got a question about ducks,, I know I know this is a moose hunting forum, but I know some of you love to hunt waterfowl too, so here goes
what do you call a female duck?
if a male is a drake, then what's a female??

ok check this out: www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0872847.htmlthis has been an issue as of late, you see, I posted a picture of a female duck, and yes, I too, called her a "hen" and I practically got laughed out of the forum for it!!! I argued with them, then did some homework on it, and found the above site, which tells me that a female mallard is called a "duck" period. I scratched my head over that one, and have asked just about everybody I know what they call a female duck,, everybody says the same thing,, as you boys do,, a "hen" I say "nope"!!!!
